New µTorrent 3.0 Beta – Streaming, Sending, Remote Access and More

We are excited to announce that the first beta build of µTorrent 3.0 is here (download). It’s packed with new features and updates with a focus on convenience and a better, more streamlined user experience. Highlights include:

Streaming
Now watch videos much sooner with our new streaming feature. By using progressive/sequential download techniques, start watching before your download completes, or simply preview content before committing to a full download.

Ratings
The new rating and comment feature also helps you to assess torrent files with immediate feedback from other users who have previously downloaded the same torrent. 

Sending
Easily send large files – for example home movies, large videos taken with your cell, and photos – to your friends directly from µTorrent. Select any file on your computer, drag it into the µTorrent “Drag files to send” box and µTorrent will create a Web link. Enter a friend’s email address or post the link to social media. Recipients can easily download the torrent, or if they don’t have µTorrent, download an app bundled with the file. Simple!

µTorrent Remote
Access your µTorrent client through a Web-based user interface from another computer or mobile device. Start, stop and monitor torrents in addition to adding new torrents. µTorrent Remote is also available in our new Android app. Check it out here.

New Simplified View 
At any time, you may now minimize parts of the µT interface for a simplified view of the client. Not only does this assist new users by focusing attention on the most important client features, but it also allows anyone to cut out distractions to focus on the business of finding, getting and playing content. 

Portable Mode 

Now, run your µTorrent client directly from a USB key, and take it with you wherever you go.

Additional Apps Available
New apps are always being added to your Apps Studio. Apps include our Spotlight artist, content catalogues like Khan Academy and TEDtalks, plus  feature apps that add great new functionality to your µTorrent client. As always, µTorrent apps allow you to choose only the features you want, giving you control over your client size and experience.

Other Improvements
µTorrent 3.0 also has many updates and improvements for increased performance and stability. It has improved Web seeding that speeds up the process of finding the original source of a single-source file and takes out the uncertainty of whether or not you can find and download the file.
